Must watch films and series of 2022
2022 is loaded to the brim with incredible upcoming film and tv projects coming out on various platforms. We've got our list of recommendations for must watch projects and there should be a bit of something for everyone. Check it out we look forward to sharing reviews of some of this awesome shows and films coming to a screen near you.
Moon Knight
- Moon Knight follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered museum employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories from a different life. Steven later discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. While also becoming the avatar for the Egyptian God Khonshu, and taking on the mantle of Moonknight. Moon Knight stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke, May Calamawy, Gaspard Ulliel, Loic Mabanza, F. Murray Abraham. The series premiered on Disney+ on March 30th so you can catch the first episode at the time of this blog's release!
The Rings of Power
- This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, and hope hung by the finest of threads. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. Characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone in this exciting prequel to the LOTR epic. The Rings of Power will premier on Amazon prime, September 22, 2022 and will star Robert Aramayo, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Nazanin Boniadi, Markella Kavenaugh and many more awesome talents.
Obi-Wan
- During the reign of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi embarks on a crucial mission. Kenobi must confront allies turned enemies and face the wrath of the Empire while transitioning to looking after a young Luke Skywalker from the shadows. As such, Luke’s uncle Owen is set against Obi-Wan’s involvement in his young charge’s life and must stand in the way of Inquisitor Reva, spelling trouble for his nephew. Hayden Christensen is reprising his role as Darth Vader to much fan fare, creating some exciting potential conflicts between him and Ewan's Obi-Wan. Expect to see Joel Edgerton, Ruper Friend, Moses Ingram, Sung Kang and more in action during the series as well. Obi-Wan Kenobi will kick off on May 27th on Disney+.
House of the Dragon
- Set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series tells the story of a turbulent period for House Targaryen. One that sets sibling against sibling and dragon against dragon in an epic conflict that will reshape the power structure of Westeros and the larger, sprawling fantasy world. The Iron Throne will be claimed with fire and blood. House of the Dragon will star Matt Smith, Emma D'Arcy, Milly Alcock, Olivia Cooke and many more. The series will premiere this summer on August 21st.

The Boys
- The Boys are back and things are about to get even more bloody diabolical. The Boys promises to explore the horrible origins of Vought, The Seven, and its close relationship with America itself. We'll also get to see our titular "Boys" get a taste of some super powered abilities to contend with some familiar and new "heroes" working under the corrupt Vought organization. The Boys is expected to be a thrill ride and the cast brings a lot to the table starring Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jensen Ackles, Karen Fukuhara, Laz Alonso, Tomer Kapon, Chase Crawford, Jessie Usher and more. Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
- Dr. Stephen Strange casts a forbidden spell that opens a portal to the multiverse. However, a threat emerges that may be too big for his team to handle and the rules he's bent in the past may come back to haunt him as he faces off against a new adversary. Doctor Strange will feature an impressive cast of Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sir Patrick Stewart, Xochitl Gomez, Rachel Mcadams and Adam Hugill. Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness comes out in theaters on May 4th.
Nope
- Jordan Peele brings us his next Horror thriller with "Nope". Caretakers at a California horse ranch encounter a mysterious force that affects human and animal behaviour. It's anticipated that things are going to get very strange for our character as this twilight zone esque setting invokes a creepy undertone to everything about the trailer. The hype is real as this project brings a range of tv and film favorite actors to the movie, starring Keke Palmer, Daniel Kaluuya, Steven Yuen, Barbie Ferreira, Jennifer LaFleur, Brandon Perea, Donna Mills and more. Nope hits theaters on July 22nd, 2022.
Jurassic World: Dominion
- When the trailer for Jurassic World was released the fans were ecstatic to what felt like a return to form for the series, plus the fact that the original cast are coming back to the main story. The future of mankind hangs in the balance as humans and dinosaurs coexist following the destruction of Isla Nublar and a new heirarchy is established on Earth. Jurassic World Dominion storms on the big screen on June 10th, 2022 with a cast of Sam Neill, Chris Pratt, Laura Dern, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, DeWanda Wise, Daniella Pineda, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith and many other talents.
Ozark Series Finale Part 2
- If you've been following what's touted as one of Netflix's best drama series, you'll know that the tension looms heavy as the series concludes. Major spoiler warnings ahead if you haven't watched the show yet. Part 2 picks up after the FBI closes in on the corrupt Byrde clan, with Ruth devastated by the executions of Wyatt and Darlene, and the Byrdes' complicity in their murder due to their ties with the Navarro clan. Things are going to reach their absolute boiling point as all the chacters are pushed to their limits and we're on the edge of our seats waiting to see how things play out. Ozark's outstanding cast include Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Julia Garner, Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Jessica Frances Dukes, Felix Solis, Damian Young and Alfonso Herrera. It's all coming to a head on April 29th.
